Residential Private Line Locating

In our ongoing effort to prevent damage to underground facilities, Residential Private Locating Services are now available. If you need the lines beyond the meter located, we can work with you to get those identified and marked so you can continue your planning or excavation. Currently available in Pulaski, Saline, and Faulkner counties with expansion to the rest of the state planned in the near future.

Utility companies consider all underground facilities beyond the meter to be private, and therefore the responsibility of the owner or homeowner to maintain and protect against damage. We can now locate and mark all private lines using either direct connection or coupling.

Please review our procedures, pricing, and limitation of liability before proceeding with your residential private locate request.

Procedures: The following information will be needed to place a request: Name, address, contact number and the Arkansas 811 locate reference number for either excavation or survey. An ARKUPS field representative will be in contact to establish a mutually agreed date and time to meet on site to complete the RPL. The work order must be signed and a personal or business check provided at the time the services are completed. We are unable to accept cash or credit card payments at this time.

Pricing: A service charge of $94.00 will apply for each site visit in addition to the “total time-on-site” rate of $94.00 per hour, calculated to the half-hour increment. Normally, only one site visit is needed. An additional site visit may be requested to re-mark the area due to work and weather destroying the original markings. All RPL services including locating, GPS and mapping are at the same rate of $94.00 per hour.

Limitation of Liability: Customer acknowledges and understands that, in providing Private Utility locating services pursuant to this Agreement, ARKUPS is using its best efforts to determine the locations of underground Private Utility facilities on the premises of Customer. ARKUPS expressly disclaims any knowledge of actual locations of any underground Private Utility facilities on the customer’s premises, including but not limited to the depths at which those facilities may be situated. ARKUPS is not guaranteeing the accuracy or completeness of the locating and/or mapping provided pursuant to this Agreement. ARKUPS shall not be liable to Customer or to any third party for any losses or damages arising from or relating to any information provided by ARKUPS pursuant to this Agreement, including but not limited to information that may be inaccurate or incomplete. Customer shall inform any third party of these limitations.
